We’ve tried using “InsertBuiltinViewItem” to popup a map “ViewAndLayoutItem.MapBuiltinId” in the SmartClient. The method isn’t returning any error nor is it throwing any exceptions but there is no popup happening.

You might want to see how to work the sample wit a map. We just tested it and please see below.
Deploy the sample and start Smart Client. In the setting mode, deploy Smart Client View and Window Tool to a view in Smart Client.
See following setting and it should work.
Thank you Rie for your answer. Unfortunately, I have replicated your steps with no success. The map still does not popup when I send the command to the smart client.
That sounds strange.. Because we had tested it before answering previous post and it was working fine.
Please clarify: Does the sample work for you but your replication of the code fails or does the unmodified sample also fail for you?
What product and version of XProtect do you use? What version of the MIP SDK?
