How fix Event source not licensed?

I am trying to run the Access Control Demo. Everything seems to work except that the events do not show up in Smart Client.

the log in XProtect Event Server/logs says:

Unable to handle EventOccurred event from access control system plugin. Event source not licensed. Demo Server: Demo System on 127.0.0.1 (2b813300-3845-2461-6007-235fdde0d393)

Seems this would be the problem. But what does it mean and what should I do about it?

If your XProtect VMS is not fully and correctly licensed this will occur.

The fastest and most effective help for this should be the license chat.
