I could get systeminfo.xml on Xprotect VMS 2018 R1, but I couldn’t get systeminfo.xml on Xprotect VMS 2018 R2. Are some configurations needed?
It should be the same, no changes from XProtect Professional 2018R1 to XProtect Professional 2018R2. I suspect it could be authentication, so check the user requesting the systeminfo.xml.
What error do you get?
Can you confirm you are using XProtect Professional 2018R2?
Please test manually - what do you get?
If you are using Windows users do the following :
- in IE type : http://serverIP:PORT/systeminfo.xml
- Provide the Windows user login details - use a user with full access.
Thanks Andersen.
No change is good answer for me and your suggestion is also good.
I’ll check my environment again.
When I accessed to http://serverIP:PORT/systeminfo.xml, I got 404(not found) response. I can access other URL related to XProtect such as
If you have something on http://serverIP:PORT/installation you do NOT have XProtect Professional.
You do not have e-code.
I am guessing you have XProtect Proffessional+ (PLUS) and this is c-code.
It is very important to note that the systeminfo.xml in c-code is very reduced, and it is recommended to use Server Command service instead.
But there is a systeminfo.xml and you find it on - http://serverIP:serverPORT/RCServer/systeminfo.xml
Where there is no changes from XProtect Professional 2018R1 to XProtect Professional 2018R2, XProtect Professional+ 2018R2 is something very different. As a administrative user you will also experience that the Management Client is so very different compared to the Management Application.
Thank you and I’m sorry for late response.
You are correct. I checked again, uninstall Professional+ and install Professional. I can get the systeminfo.xml as it was.
Hi, Everyone
I met the same problem(return blank page when visiting rcserver/systeminfo.xml) with free Essential+ 2018 R2. Ok to visit http://serverIP:PORT/installation. Is it because the version?
Thanks for you help in advance.
No, the version is fine and http://localhost/rcserver/systeminfo.xml should work. You must authenticate as a user in the administrators role, might this be missing?
I created a basic user and assigned it to the administrators role. It still returns blank.
Test with a Windows/AD user.
In the management client, there is only option for “basic user”. How can I add a Windows/AD user?
In the Management Client pick the Role you are configuring, on the Users and Groups tab you find an Add button, you can add basic users you have created and you can add users from Windows/AD.
I suggest you first test is locally ‘localhost’ and that you use a user that is a part of the local admin (Windows).
Hi Bo, thanks for your reply. Another question, there should be a file named systeminfo.xml in the system, right? I tried to check the installation directory and didn’t find any. [D:\Program](file:D:/Program) Files\Milestone\XProtect Management Server\IIS. Under the IIS directory, there are two directory “httpdocs” and “reporting”.
No. The response is generated on the fly.
