I have Xprotect Essentials+ 2018R2 and has been working fine for several months on my Win1064bit system. I could connect to the webclient from mobile device properly as I had port 8081 forwarded in my firewall and internal access worked properly as well. Then for some reason (I had made no changes) the smart & mobile client stopped working. I keeps saying (in status of bottom task bar) check surveillance server credentials, which are the same as I use to login the computer and the Management Console. With the default login it logs in the management console but not the mobile client. Also initially the smart client would fail too. I’ve since done a re-install over top but made no difference, then uninstalled IIS and reinstalled again, now the smart client logs in properly but still not the web client, locally or from mobile device. The local website still doesn’t load even. The status still states check server credentials. I’ve spend hours on this and cannot figure out why this is happening and how even a reinstall doesn’t resolve this.
Would appreciate any suggestions. Please help.
Thank you!

The question was supposed to be: how to resolve Check Surveillance Server Credentials issue.
Hi Paul,
Obviously something is messed up with the OS as Network Service account is not able to login into the MS on the same machine.
What I could recommend you is to create a basic user, preferably in the Administrators role, in the MC and try to connect MoS with it.
Btw this is a developer forum, but your question is much more “support” like.
Thanks for your reply.
I’ve created the post in the Support forum as well, called: “How to resolve Check Surveillance Server Credentials issue. XProtect 2018R2. Cannot get Mobile Client to work, even locally.”
Only suggestion from that forum so far is to upgrade to 2018 R3 which I’ll try soon and let you guys know if that resolved it or not.
Thank you.
Just to give you all an update.
I’ve upgraded to the 2018R3 version which did resolve this strange issue. Thank you.
Only new issue I have now is it doesn’t see an older Axis camera even with that legacy device pack installed as they suggested.
It’s still listed under the cameras but cannot get video stream from it.
Any ideas?
Regards,
Hi Paul,
could you check in the Management Client, on the camera in the RS tree should be an exclamation mark. It you hover with mouse on it you should see tool-tip with message that could be useful.
If it is “License is invalid” you should check the licensing.
If it is “Connection is broken” could a problem in driver/network.
