In 2025 R2, the Open Network Bridge security permissions are not displayed

I installed XProtect Professional+ 2025 R2 and Open Network Bridge 2025 R2, and I want to play back as an ONVIF client using VLC Media Player’s network stream (RTSP).

I am configuring the system by following the manual (https://doc.milestonesys.com/2025r2/en-US/standard_features/sf_onvifbridge/onb_settingupmilonv.htm). However, at the step below, the Open Network Bridge security permissions do not appear. Please see the attached image.

Configure user settings for an ONVIF client 2. In the Management Client, create a role that can access cameras, and specify permissions for the Milestone Open Network Bridge security group on the Overall Security tab for the role.

Could you advise on the cause and how to resolve this issue?

Best Regards

Hello,

I am also experiencing this issue. I have the bridge plugin installed for my 2025 R2 management client.

I see the “Open Network Bridge Server” under “Servers”, but there is no New option, as described in the documentation. There is also no “Open Network Server” permission group in the “Overall Security” tab.

Did you ever figure it out?

Hey Kouzou,

On prima vista I would check is the ONB management plug-in is installed on the machine where Management Client is running.

Hi Joel,

Seem like ONB is not registered well (or not connected well) to the MS.
Could you check if there is an entry for ONB in the Registered services (MC).
