we are integrating milestone with door access controller system, the SDK version is 2017R3, and from activeX imageViewer the web portal, it connected to management server, and can list down all the recording server.

while browser each recording server, it can list down each recording server the camera list, but the live-streaming can only be showing under recording server1 camera list, other recording server camera list can show camera name, but the live streaming shows “not connected”.

is there any limitation under the imageviewer activex application, that only one recording server live streaming can be showed, but why can list down all recording server camera list.

Pls clarify.

No, the ImageServer activex supports multiple recording servers. When trying to use the ImageViewerDomeActiveX_JScript – it works fine with selecting the ‘Engine’ first (is recording server), and then camera.

Please try this sample and see if that works for you – consider proxy and firewall filters to 2nd recording on port 7563

thanks for reply, it’s not firewall issue, and while switch to 2nd recording server, from “netstat -an | findstr 7563”, I can see the pc still connect to recording one, not connect to recording two.

thanks for replying, sorry the screenshot has sensitive customer info, so I cannot put screenshot here,
smart client works fine,
if as u said the not connected means ActiveX does not running but the network session from command line "netstat -an " shows a lot of session still connecting to the first recording server.
while if I try to refresh the IE, it will get me another “confusing” as I need to connect to the milestone management server again with ad credential and list down the recording server again, but the live streaming of cameras will never show from other recording server, but just from the first recording server.
i already confirmed the ActiveX using from latest 2018R1 SDK sample, still same result, I guess it’s the sample limitations even it can list down multiple recording server the cameras, but the live recording streams only can show from the first recording server.

I ported the sample ActiveX component to non domain or domain computers both, and the result are same, even I run the component on the milestone management server, it’s still same result, strange is the smart client does not have such issue, the refresh IE for ActiveX will result the login to reset to localhost URL, then after login and list down all the recording server again, it still can only show the first recording server camera live recording, no matter I change different cameras on same recording server it will always shows correct live recording, but switch to other recording server it can show the camera list but not showing any camera live streaming.

I did another test, for example,I configured the recording server 3,4,5, but only under recording 4 has camera, then the ActiveX can show only recording 4 and the camera list and show live streaming correctly, while if I add the camera under recording 3, and after I refresh IE and login with credential, I can list down both recording 3 and 4 and all camera list, but live streaming will only show cameras live recording under recording 3, and will not show recording 4 camera live recording any more.
I hope u can easily reproduce the error, if not, can we schedule a remote session so I can get u look into it quickly,

If you use the Smart Client in this PC does the same happen? If it does it points to network setup or firewall.

“Not Connected” indicates that the ImageViewer activeX is not running! Otherwise the error would say something about “retrying - connecting to xxx”. When that happens I think you should refresh the Internet Explorer and start over.

I cannot find you registered under a Milestone Care account, please contact your local support office and get that in place. Make sure your name (contact) is under the right account. Have local support also correct the support case to be under the correct account.

I did check the network there is no issue on the firewall or other blocking.
The issue is the sample activeX application does not switch over to other recording server to retrieve the camera list.
Below screenshot shows for recording1 I switch to different camera, the session between activeX application to recording1 the session will be a new

But while other recording server it does not have any connection

I don’t think it’s a firewall issue or other blocking, as I tested if I remove all recording1 camera, and from mgmt. server it only show recording2 then the recording2 camera will show live streaming.
It’s some kind of this sample application recognized the recording server in list, then the session will always hook on the first recording server.
Please verify it.
Appreciate if you can have a remote session to support us.

For the service contract, I already submit a case to support@milestone and based on their reply the SDK related better to come here to get some support.

Hi Bo,
I did one more test, shutdown recording1 server, then refresh the imageViewer activeX again, login with ad credential, now I can see the recording2 server live stream, so it surely is not a connection issue, it’s related with the enterprise manager and imagviewer internally how to handle the multiple recording server.
Can you have a remote look and see the issue.
