I am aware it is possible to hide the ‘Auto Login’ and ‘Remember Password’ options from with the ‘login.xml’ and ‘loginhistory.xml’.
I am also aware that we can force the ‘computer’ field to point at a specified server name.
is it possible to grey out this field to stop users changing this field?
There is no way to stop the users from writing another address in the login dialog.
I can confirm your observations about the use of LoginHistory.xml..
You can in the Management Client define a Smart Client Profile where “Remember password” and “Auto-login” (in General settings) are set to “Unavailable”. This however works by writing a LoginHistory.xml where these choices are reflected. If the user know of the involvement of the file, and how it works, he can modify the file. There is no way to avoid this.
