LogServer Communication Error

I have developed a plugin with the 2019R3 SDK that works correctly. The Customer asked me for a modification that I made with the SDK 2020R2, and it works correctly.

When I debug the Smart Client while shutting down the client I get the following message …

The same thing does not happen with the Management Client and without Visual Studio closing the Smart Client no error message appears.

Can anyone please tell me what this could depend on?

Many Thanks,

Frediano

Can you please provide us your stack trace for further investigation?

Yes, of course.

I tested 2 different plugins, the first, let’s call Older, started with SDK 2019R2 and completed with 2019R3, the second, Newer, started with 2019R3 and still not completed. I jumped 2020R1 release.

Attached you will find both stack traces.

Many Thanks,

Frediano

Milestone Development will start an investigation.

Hi Frediano,

Thank you for letting us know about the issue you are encountering. We have created a bug on our backlog that we will use to track the issue, and gather the necessary information.

A bit more info background:

LogClientInternal.RegisterMessagesAsync, in the Smart Client, is the one throwing the exception. This is an issue with the SC termination process and has nothing to do with the plug-in you are developing. It happens fairly randomly and depends on the order of things being cleaned up.

Thanks Constantin, it doesn’t seem to be anything compromising, it’s just annoying when you’re developing a plugin.

Frediano
