manual recording results in no audio in playback with 'follow video'

Using XProtect Professional 2014 and 2016 and if I set the microphone to ‘Always’ record versus ‘Follow Video’ it is the difference between audio working or not working when I play back video that is manually recorded.

I have disabled all motion detection and the only video we review is video that is manually recorded.

If I set it to Always I believe this means I am recording 650MB/day/camera for an audio track we are probably not needing.

Can someone please comment?

Hi Sandy,

how do you have your recording settings configured in the Management Application? To record: Always? Never, or conditional?

Never. All recordings are manual recordings

Hi Sandy,

I have reproduced the issue (in 2014 and 2016 R3) and as you say, I believe audio should “follow video” in all senses of the word, not only motion detection, therefore I will create a bug report so that we can have the issue looked into.

If you wish, I can create a support ticket for you so that you can follow up on the matter. Let me know, and Happy New Year!

Hi Raul

Yes I would very much appreciate any method that would keep me posted on the progress of this bug fix.

I’m about to post another question to this forum with what I think may be bug related to manual recording.

Thank you,

Sandy
