Starting with XProtect 2021 R1, information about Installed Integrations will be sent to Milestone’s licensing web service, where it is centrally stored and aggregated. We call this new functionality Installed Integrations Insights, and we believe this information can be valuable for your business. We are happy to provide you with this data upon your request.
The information sent, is the one you provide in the VideoOS.Platform.PluginDefinition overrides Manufacturer, Name, VersionString, and Id, which is also visible in the About Boxes.
Similarly, since the release of XProtect 2020 R3, the MIP SDK also allows the registration of Component and Protocol integrations to XProtect. When developing and updating integrations to XProtect 2020 R3, you can identify your integration in your code by providing your manufacturer’s name etc. during Login, like in this sample code.
The information is sent to Milestone, but we only collect, keep and process information for those Manufacturer names for which you have explicitly allowed us to do so. You can register the manufacturer name you use in your different integrations by sending an email to partner@milestone.dk.
