Monitoring 'Dynamic Events' without rule. Dynamic events vs. non-Dynamic events.

Hi,

in XProtect, under Devices, I can select Cameras > Events.

When I add an event, I get a list ‘Select Driver Events’ with possible events. Some of them are marked “Dynamic” and I understand the event list gets populated by whatever events the camera advertises when it is mounted in Xprotect.

I’m testing with an ONVIF camera that can send ‘Line Cross’ events (aka Trip Wire) I have two Dynamic Line Cross events, one Rising one Falling.

When I start scrolling down further there is also an even ‘Line Cross Started’

This event is not marked “Dynamic”.

Which one of the two should I use? Where does the second event come from?

In other words, wat is the difference between the events marked ‘Dynamic’ and the events not marked ‘Dynamic’

I’m trying to make Line Cross work. I can see in ONVIF Device Manager that the Line Cross event is send. Yes, when I make a rule to write something in the log on Line Cross, I don’t get anything…

Is there a way to monitor what events are being received from the camera, without setting up a rule for the event?

Sorry if these are trivial questions, I’m not so familiar with this VMS.

Thanks for your patience,

Kind Regards
