I’m looking for a way to temporarily run multiple versions of Xprotect screen recorder on systems at the same time while we are working through a near 700 camera system migration from 2019 to 2022.
We have ~200 screen recorders in our environment that are running v13 (or below) of the screen recorder software. This version of the software will not work with the Milestone XProtect 2022 R2 system.
The hope is that there is a way to install the v22 screen recorder software (changing the config to a different port) while leaving the v13 screen recorder with its default installed parameters. The software would be pointing to two different management servers and the GoLive date the old management server would be turned off and then the v13 screen recorder software uninstalled from the systems where it is running.
When trying to do this, we have encountered the “Previous version installed message.” Multiple attempts through file renames and registry tweaks have failed us, we just haven’t hit the right combination yet.
