Today I notice I cant install the ONB on a diffrent machine and use a workgroup user, so all services on all machine work with a dedicated “mservice” user. but the windows service does not start, but installation and auth was success. is this a known thingy ?
The documentation says: Verify that the login as either Network Service or a domain user account with User name and Password is correct. Then, click Continue.
I think it means no workgroup user.
yeah i see that, and found it very strange, that all other stuff works but this not. thx
@ChristophAcs, I have a 2025 R3 system that is in a Workgroup with a separate machine in the workgroup running ONB using a workgroup user. I know that the user has to exist on both the ONB machine and the XProtect Management Server machine and they have to have the same password. The user also needs to be in the Administrators role in XProtect.
