when opening few playback windows after a few times the playback windows starting to skip frames/seconds from the server, i checked with the smart client and from there everything is fine.
any ideas?
If you explore the PlaybackWpfUser or PlaybackUser sample you can try to manipulate the “Skip Gap” settings. I am guessing you are experiencing the effect of this setting.
Note; this is a setting in the Smart Client also, in Settings on the Timeline tab, the Playback option. The functionality is to skip gaps if the highlighted camera comes to a period with no video recorded.

thanks for the answer but the system that i’m testing on is recording 24\7 and not VMD. so there isnt any reason for the frame skips.

Also, do you use the same playback controller for all the windows, or individual one for each?
