Possible to record the video with overlaying text?

Hi,

We are using MultiChannelMetadataProvider SDK sample to overlay the text in Milestone Smart Client. We would like to record the video with overlaying text.

We are working with Milestone 2016 R2 and Milestone 2017 R2 (XProtect versions).

Please suggest way to do this?

We do not support altering the video for legal reasons. But metadata is exported together with video, so if you also let your plugin be exported - it will work the same way when a Smart Clinet is opening the exported databases.

When the operator exports with the Smart Client, the Metadata is automatically exported with the video (as it is defined to be related). When the Smart Client is started up later in Player mode (e.g. stand alone), the metadata overlay is displayed in same way as it was in live mode.

We are able to record video with overlay and can be viewed using SmartClient- Player.

But .avi file not showing video with overlay.

Please guide us to export the metadata with video in .avi format.

Unfortunately there is no support for metadata or any other form of overlay in the MIP SDK AVI exporter (or built-in AVI exporter).
