Problem when trying to get device list from a recorder. We first get the recorder GUID and then try to request the hardware devices under it but get an "Unrecognized Guid format" error

On a specific server running 2019R1 with DP10.3a. We request the recording server GUID and get what looks like a valid GUID 425C81EA-4F7C-45FC-A8F5-1BA65AC80942.

We then try to fetch the hardware devices on this recorder using the GUID we got but get an “Unrecognized Guid format” error.

This is not happening to us anywhere else, not even on similar system with same versions (although old). Any idea why would a returned GUID will be seen as “Unrecognized Guid format”?

Any known bug / fix in these older versions?

This doesn’t fit any known bug as far as I can tell. I seem to recall an issue with GUIDs having to be lower or upper case, this might be much further back, but you could easily test that.

In general the support for the MIP SDK has the same expiry as the XProtect VMS, so Milestone Development will not be doing an investigation or fix. But: Perhaps if you illustrate further details on how you use this, posting a snippet of code on how exactly you try to fetch this, I will have a look and might be able to come up with ideas to further troubleshoot.
