Problems adding Axis M7010 video encoder to Professional +

Hello,

We have a distributed system with several recording servers and one management server. Everything is working as expected in all camera IP. Yesterday we tried to add existing analog camera using a M7010 Axis encoder without success. Network connectivity is OK and all devices can reach each others. Here’s the tests we’ve done:

  • Accessing the encoder by IP using a browser we can visualize all four camera streams.
  • Tried to add the encoder using the ONVIF protocol instead of axis one.
  • Updated the encoder to the lastest Firmware 5.51.5.1
  • Updated the device Pack with the latest one in the recordind server.
  • The system detects 8 streams in the stream Tab, tried changing the streams without success.

Solved. It was a Layer 3 issue with an access list. From my PC i could connect to the encoder because i’m in a super admin ACL but recording server wasn’t. so added it to permit access to/from encoder and all is OK.

Could you pls share more detail how to make permit access to/from encoder, in Layer 3 sw or in milestone management client
