Replace camera without changing ID (or match new and old camera)

Hello,

We have a customer who said that they need to replace cameras in Milestone all of the time.

Milestone changes the ID of the device when it is replaced and we discover this as a new device.

This creates a duplicate entry (keeping the old one), and forces the customer to have to manually correct this (delete the old one, place a new one on the map).

Is there any way to detect when a camera had been replaced, and instead of creating a new sensor – replacing or updating the old one?

Is there any replacements procedure the customer can follow for that?

Or we can retrieve it from SDK, so the customer will not need to manually correct devices in our system?

I would like to confirm that I understood it correctly - if the customer will follow the guide then the camera will not change GUID. Correct?
