Are there any plans to integrate Export functionality into the RESTful API, similar to what exists in the MilestoneSystems.VideoOS.Platform.SDK ?
Good idea to have such an endpoint, but no there is currently no concrete plans.
I have made sure Milestone Product Management have seen this post when they make prioritize and make plans for the XProtect of the future
Right now what comes closer is that the Mobile Server can create an export package which you can download, this is currently the only alternative to the export in the SDK you mention.

Thank you Sir, I did have a quick look at the thread, but the idea was to avoid being tied down by the .NET Framework the SDK uses, as we are exploring migrating some of our older apps to .NET. With that said we are also curious to know if there are any plans to update the MilestoneSystems.VideoOS.Platform to .NET or NetStandard in the near future?
The Mobile SDK can be used, and has samples in both .Net and JavaScript. I do not know if it makes a difference for you.
There is no plan to update the MilestoneSystems.VideoOS.Platform to .NET or NetStandard, there are talks of making a different SDK instead, currently there is no concrete plans and I cannot say when, or even if, there will be a new MIP SDK..
