Restrict access to LPR

Hi.

We have a customer running Xprotect Expert 2014 and LPR 1.0. Is there any way to restrict access to LPR based on roles? They don’t want some users to have access to the LPR tab in the Smart Client.

Erm… I think you have hit a sore point. I have checked, neither the “SmartClient profiles” nor the role settings seem to offer any way of hiding the LPR tab.

I will bring this to the attention of the right people.

You can edit the role access to the LPR in the MIP Tab in the management client

That doesn’t work. When I open the MIP tab, I see Milestone XProtect LPR 2015 (we’ve updated since the original question) and when I click on it, I get three unchecked boxes. If I try to check any of them, the change is not saved. I can’t hit CTRL-S to save, File-Save is greyed out, and it doesn’t ask me to save when I leave the tab. If I do leave the tab and return to it, all three boxes are again unchecked. The users added to the role have full access to LPR in the Smart Client.

This sounds like a known issue that was first reported in 7.0c but fixed in 7.0d. What version is your XProtect Expert 2014? (7.0x?)

If you do not have the d version an upgrade is recommended.

We upgraded the entire Expert installation from 7.0c to 7.0d before upgrading LPR from 1.0 to 2015.

Is this something that will likely fix itself if I upgrade to Expert and LPR 2016 when they are released?

Has this been resolved in Corp/Expert 2016? Thanks

Forgot to post an update. We upgraded the customer’s system to Expert 2016 and now it works fine.
