Is there a way for a server side plugin to process the frames at the server and re-inject them back into the camera stream before it reaches the Smart Client? For example, the Smart Client could display two views from Camera 1 (original stream) and Camera 2 (processed stream).
This might fit better in the Software Development Kit section of the Community.
You could using the MIP SDK develop a server service that will get the images, does manipulation to the images, then submits the images in another (virtual) camera.
