Specifics of Interconnected Cameras

We have several plugins, that rely on custom associated item properties and on our proprietary metadata format.

Let’s assume, I’ve working on an interconnect setup and the cameras on the interconnected site have the custom property.

Let’s further assume, our plugins run in the central site and want to access the properties of those interconnected cameras.

The question is:

  1. Are the custom properties also exposed when i access the item with a plugin in a Smart Client on the central system?
  2. Is the metadata, that is streamed from the interconnected site to the central site any different than the metadata stream, if I would stay in the interconnected domain.

  1. No, it is not possible. The camera you see on the site is a new camera with its own properties. You cannot see any properties belonging to the original camera. (The main concept of interconnect is that you can get stream from other VMS, not other things; like properties and so on. So that is why, it is not possible.)

  2. There is no difference, video- and metadata-stream is the same.
