SRT stream drvier

Hi,

Is it possible to receive a video stream using the SRT protocol?

I suppose this could be done whit a custom driver that acts as an SRT listener.

The videostream received should be converted I suppose so maybe FFMPEG is a solution here.

Is this possible?

Thanks

Universal Driver does not support this protocol. So, a MIP Driver Framework driver will need to be developed. Depending on whether SRT is a transport protocol, and underneath uses video codecs like H.264 or similar supported by Milestone, the video can be feed directly to Milestone XProtect. If the SRT is a video format, you will have to develop a transcode service or something similar so that the video can be used for Milestone XProtect.

Hi Kenny,

So we’ve actually done this now. between our Streaming engine and ORBdriver we’re able to output and bring in

RTSP

RTSP over SLL

RTMP

RTMP over SSL

SRT

HLS

WebRTC

video files from disk.

and ontop of all that we have a pretty funky transcoding engine to alter streams as required.
