Successive plugin installation leave "garbage" on Milestone DB?

Hello.

We developed an integration between Salto Access Control system and Milestone using the MIP-AC sdk. We’ve been testing it now in a larger system, so, we’ve done several “install”/“remove” operations for this plugin on the management client (access control tab).

Also, our system architecture includes an WCF web service to provide communication between Salto and Milestone, where the plugin requests events from the web service and sends door commands.

Problem is that we have been noticing a degradation on the developed system as a whole, like, the web service always being “occupied” even when the plugin is removed from management client.

So, our question is, after all the done “install”/“remove” operations for the plugin, could there be remainings (garbage) of previous plugin installations being left somewhere on the Milestone database that could be provoking this behaviour, like, keeping on sending requests to the web service, thus, keeping it occupied?

Thank you.

I am guessing what you are doing is creating and deleting the Access Control system in the Management Client. Can you confirm this is what you are doing?

This should not leave anything behind, nothing should be left over to cause a different behavior.

If you right now have a system where you experience this it might be a good idea to open a support case and send us logs and a copy of the configuration (SQL) db, we can here at Milestone analyze and possibly find out if there is an issue.

Yes, it is what I’m doing. I thought it should leave nothing behind, but as I was getting this odd behaviour, I was wondering.

Whats’s the usual identification (name) of that configuration db? If it’s the one I think, it is a bit on the big size.

Surveillance is the name of the db. It might be big, if there are many events from Access it will have grown. Please zip it and upload it to the Milestone FTP and use reference MSC327663

Hi again. Already checked and the database bck, after zipping it, is 4GB in size. Is it doable the way you suggested? Or can I send a subset of information you can work with?

I hope it is doable, I sent you a message from the Support case management system with instructions. The FTP server in Milestones end does not limit the files you can upload, if you use a good FTP client capable of resume if interrupted I think it will work.
