Unable to log in Smart Client 2020 R3

Hi,

I just migrate XProtect VMS 2020 R1 to 2020 R3. I want to trace my pluggings in the Smart Client, but I can’t.

In 2020 R1, no problem.

In 2020 R3, I modify the client.exe.config to trace, but nothing appears in the directory, the file MIPLog.txt isn’t created.

Any idea ?

I try to log with Smart Client 2020 R1 on a PC : it’s ok.

On the same PC, I desinstall Smart Client 2020 R1, then install Smart Client 2020 R3 and configure the config file exactly as in 2020 R1 : it doesn’t work.

I don’t understand what’s happen.

This turns out to be a new feature introduce in Smart Client 2020R3!

The control of logging has been moved from the config file to an actual setting in the Smart Client.
