Good Morning,
When the resolution of the AXIS cameras increased from 640X480 to 1920X1080 on the milestone, the live video started to delay by more than 8 sec. Please can you help me in fixing this issue as i have tried everything that i know.
Warmest Regards
Rediet
Hi Rediet,
If a camera’s video feed becomes jittery after increasing the resolution, this may be indicative of a performance bottleneck caused by your Smart Client being under increased computational load.
Here are some things to try:
-
Try running the Smart Client on the Recording Server itself. This removes the IP network from the list of possible causes and can help identify if the degraded performance is due to network congestion. If this corrects the issue, you will need to ensure that the network link between your Smart Client and your XProtect server has enough bandwidth to facilitate the traffic from all the video feeds.
-
Try creating a view of only one camera in the Smart Client. This eases the computational demands on the Smart Client and can help identify if the degraded performance is increased computational load on the Smart Client computer. If this corrects the issue, you will need to increase the computational power of the Smart Client computer, or choose to view less cameras at one time.
