Video not displayed in XProtect Smart Client

I am able to see video in the management client for each camera, but not in the XProtect Smart Client. Server and client are on the same computer. Windows 7 - Firewall disabled, windows defender disabled.

I checked the schedule for the camera to be online - always on. Updated driver pack to 8.4. Checked stream mode- now set to RTP/RTSP/TCP.

In the Smart client I get a blank screen although I am able to PTZ the cameras. I can select the print feature and get a still shot of the camera, and I can get a still shot if I copy an camera to the clipboard.

I am able to view cameras using the web client on the same computer as the server. I am also able to see video in an XProtect Smart Client if running the client on a different machine.

unable to figure out why I can not see them in the Smart Client that is running on the same computer as the server.

What if any error messages are being displayed instead of live video in the Smart Client?

Hello. I am having a similar problem with Smartviewer 2016. Server and Client work fine together on same PC. Upgraded from 2014 viewer. Now 2nd pc only displays blank screens for all camera views. Trying to PTZ camera will indeed turn / move camera, you just can’t see it on the 2nd pc. any help would be appreciated.

Did you enable “Client Multicast” on the server side? Some of the network equipment might have blocked the multicast stream.

Original Issue Solved - The graphics card (ATI) on the machine advanced setting had to be changed from Performance to power save mode. This allowed the video to display.
