I love the Milestone product line but am forced to use competitive products that allow video
playback adjustment like Brightness/Contrast control. I know this is simply a video player issue since I
have extracted video and play the video back with open source software like VLC and then I can
adjust the image of the playback. This is crticial when trying to decipher license plate images at night.
Please strongly consider some video enhancement controls on playback.

This is an excellent suggestion, which I will relay to our Product Owner. The feature actually exists in the MiP SDK, but most of our customers use 3rd. party video forensic tools on exported/offline footage as you do.
Even more important are the image settings on the camera, in particular for analysis purposes like LPR, and even more so at night. These can be set from any Milestone XProtect VMS. And picking the right camera for the purpose, where Milestone supports more than 5,000 devices currently.
