Can you please tell us what “Hikvision\XXX” is? Is it Domain name and what did you use it for? Also please explain what “HIK\XXX” is.
Hi
For example, the account we use to login Management Client is HIK\pub.gjcp018
[cid:image001.png@01D7AADF.91B3FD40]
But we call the following MIP SDK get account HIKVISION\pub.gjcp018
LoginSettings ls = LoginSettingsCache.GetLoginSettings(EnvironmentManager.Instance.MasterSite);
Besides we see HIKVISION\pub.gjcp018 in this page.
[cid:image002.png@01D7AADF.91B3FD40]
So any idea why different account name here? we think the account should be HIK\pub.gjcp018 when call MIP SDK.
Best Regards.

Dear,
as Rie said, you need to clarify if “HIKVISION” and “HIK” are host names of a machine, or domain names. Also, if we are talkign about domain names, pls. specify the full name of the domain (e.g. “hikvision.local”).
No matter what, the name “HIKVISION” seems to be the proper name, because you have added users to XProtect with the prefix “HIKVISON”.
Pls clarify things so that we can answer.
Rgds,
Torsten
hi,it is domain name of the pc which install XProtect, full name is ‘‘HIK\pub.gjcp018’’, we can use ‘‘HIK\pub.gjcp018’’ to login Management Client, but can not login with “HIKVISION\pub.gjcp018”, so it’s not clear why MIP SDK interface returns “HIKVISION\pub.gjcp018”, it should return ‘‘HIK\pub.gjcp018’’
Please clarify following questions:
Is “HIKVISION” a domain name of the user? If so, please specify the full name of the domain (e.g. “hikvision.local”).
Also, is “HIK” a domain name of the user? If so, please specify the full name of the domain (e.g. " HIK.local").
(We don’t think “HIK\pub.gjcp018” is full name, this is domain/ host names of a machine name and user name.) If you don’t know about it, can please ask your IT department about it and let us know.
Guodong,
pls speak to your own IT guys and let us know what they say. To me it seems as if “HIK” and “HIKVISION” are domain name and domain name alias.
No matter what the SDK code does - it would not be able to “invent” a name, so it must without doubt come from the domain environment.
Speak to your IT department, and quote their answer here.
Rgds,
Torsten
Checked with IT guy, full name of domain name is “HIK\pub.gjcp018”. We can only login Management Client by “HIK\pub.gjcp018”, login failed by"HIKVISION\pub.gjcp018".
But when login by “HIK\pub.gjcp018”, it shows “HIKVISION\pub.gjcp018” in roles. This is the only point I confused, I think these two names should be same, right?
Dear Guodong ding
I understand that the name of your domain is “HIK”.
Please answer:
- What is the full name of your domain (“hik.local”, “hik.com” etc.) ?
- What is “HIKVISION” ? We can see that you have users from this entity added to you Management Client.
Keep in mind that you can only add users to the Management Clint which exist in Windows. So whatever “HIKVISION” is, it comes from your environment.
Pls go back to your IT guys and find the solution there. If your IT guys have specific questions regarding how XProtect interacts with the domain, then let us have their questions here.
Rgds,
Torsten
