Could someone describe what an access point is in relation to a door?
I can’t think of what it would map to in our access control system.
I have doors defined, and door events, and I’m not able to associate a camera to a door in the management client. I noticed the GUI mentions access points so I am guessing its needed for this, but not sure how what they are for.
There is two sides to a door, inside and outside.
If you have an access panel to get through the door, you will maybe have two panels depending on whether you are going in or out. At any rate in Milestone one door always have two access points.
This fact is also reflected in how you setup and use Access. Here is a screen capture example:
This seems to be the same screen capture, mine is made while testing the Demo Access sample.
thank you. that definitely helps.
I think in our access control system, your access panel is equivalent to what we call a reader. Our doors might have a reader on each side of the door. however, we also have doors that only have one reader. For example doors that have breaker bars to exit or simply allow someone to exit without using a reader or scanning their card.
Does that sound right? your access panel is a keypad or card reader?
Yes, I believe that is right.
