Hello,
I’m trying to install XProtect Corporate 2025 R3 on a fresh Windows 11 machine and keep hitting the following error during installation:
“A system error has occurred during installation. Installing SQL Express failed. Error code = -2068643838”
What I’ve tried so far:

Uninstalled Microsoft SQL Server 2022 (64-bit) and Microsoft SQL Server 2022 Setup (English) from Installed Apps

Deleted the following registry keys:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server -
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server 2017 RC0 Redist -

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSODBCSQL17 -
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSOLEDBSQL -
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer

Rebooted between attempts
The installer still finds MSSQL16.MSSQLSERVER in the registry, times out trying to start the MSSQLSERVER service, and then fails when attempting to install SQL Express.

Has anyone resolved this? Any help appreciated.

Sidenote: I am developing a React application plug-in for Milestone XProtect, and I want to use your MicroFrontEnd over at Developer Resources , however, when trying to do step 1, it doesn’t work. It seems that even though I am a partner, I don’t have access since the same login credentials don’t work at: https://portal.developer.milestonesys.com/
