XProtect ONVIF discovery issue in Express mode with multiple IPs on one NIC

When using Express discovery mode in XProtect, some ONVIF devices are not found if multiple IP addresses are configured on the same network adapter.

After keeping only one IP address on the adapter and ensuring it is in the same subnet as the devices, the ONVIF devices can be discovered and added successfully.

Is this a known limitation or a bug? Can Express discovery be improved to support ONVIF devices when multiple IP addresses are configured on a single NIC?

I cannot find this specific limitation documented in the Milestone ONVIF driver documentation.

I suggest opening a technical support case through the Milestone Support Portal and including:

  • The XProtect version
  • Information about the ONVIF device being used
  • A description of the network configuration, including the multiple IP addresses configured on the NIC
  • The steps required to reproduce the difference between Express discovery and the other discovery methods
